Forget Me Not
The inside of this shop is a little dim despite the huge windows, mostly on account of the dozens of plants crowding for light against the glass. Further inside are tables of smaller plants suited for indoors, skylights offering glimpses of bright blue sky and natural light for those as well. Behind the counter sits a person in greys and browns, who looks up from potting seedlings when the bell on the door signals your entrance. Their fingertips glow briefly amber as they finish with the plant. You reach into your tote, pulling out a wilted, mostly dead fern. “Help?”
