You grew up with cats. So when you finally have a place of your own with room for a cat, you jump at the opportunity. The shelter is big and there are dozens of kittens, many barely over the minimum weight to get fixed and be adopted, adorable little balls of fluff and squeaks. You look through them all diligently, certain your cat will be here. You find him toward the back, down a less-filled hallway, lankier and less outgoing. When you touch his fur, you know: this is your familiar, and he is glad you have found each other.
